Part of the Elsie Allen Pomo Basket Collection This basin shaped piece was beautifully made by Annie Burke for Ralph Aguilar. A large central band design exhibits a zigzag in negative. The rim is nicely adorned with alternating light and dark segments in the wrapping of the rim rod. The underselvage area has a pattern of checks. Lattice twining forms the open weave. Willow is the warp material and is twined with a weft of sedge and redbud designs. This piece exhibits the great skill of Annie Burke.
