Woven Headband with Porcupine Quills
Woven Headband of palm fronds. Twill-plaited. Woven material is folded on the bottom side which forms an open seam at the top side. The seam is inset with a single row of porcupine quills. Quills are reinforced with a single strand of fiber sewn through each, mid way up the quills. Seam is whip-stitched with single fiber to close the seam around the quills' bases. Band is bound at the back with fiber cordage. On cordage ties there is a tag which reads: "Quill Ceremonial Headband / 300.00 KY / MD".
