Female Ceramic Figure
Pre-columbian (Guererro?) female figure with cesarian cleft. Formed from reddish clay showing through whitish slip coating. Figure has flattened head with prominent eyes and eyebrows, nose with defined nostrils and closed lips Shoulders decorated with linear pattern terminate without arms or hands. Torso has a prominent, possibly pregnant belly with a deep cleft running from chest to belly. Breasts have holes and decorations above them that make them appear to be eyes with brows. Legs are wide with decorative protrusions, slightly bent knees, and large rounded feet with roughly formed toes.
Less attention has been given to back of figure, but a matching, but shallower cleft runs down center of back.
