Coiled, Plaited, Twined: The Skillful and Diverse Basketry of North America

This exhibit features fine basketry from the Jesse Peter Multicultural Museum's collections, some of which has not been on display before now. Some features of this exhibit: A new collection of Klamath River area basketry from the 1920's - 1940's; basketry starts by local weavers Laura Somersal and Elsie Allen; several stunning coiled Apache basketry trays; a very unusual twined lidded basket from the Pacific Northwest Coast with a gorgeous star pattern finely woven into the bottom, and much more.
